Responsibilities
- To conduct comprehensive lifestyle, strength and fitness assessments
- To devise and implement individual and group exercise programs.
- Assess clients and monitor their progress, adjusting programs as needed.
- To motivate mental health consumers to live healthier lifestyles and assist with behaviour change.
- Keep up to date client notes and progress reports as required.
- Write reports and letters to the National Disability Insurance Agency for NDIS clients (templates provided)
- Lead educational workshops relating to exercise and mental health and assist with the development of new workshops.
- Participate in regular case conferences and progress meeting with the team.
The Successful candidate will be:
- Able to demonstrate their competence as an exercise physiologist, for people with a mental illness.
- Self-driven, work autonomously, and able to self-evaluate performance.
- Able to work in a team environment amongst other health and fitness professionals.
- Diligent with keeping client notes and monitoring their progress.
- Organised and able to manage their own client appointments.
- Able to develop rapport with a diverse group of clients.
- An outstanding communicator with the ability to relate to consumers with a mental illness.
- Capable of learning and using technology both for both administration and delivery of exercise programs and workshops.
Essential Criteria:
- ESSA Accreditation as an Exercise Physiologist
- Mental Health First Aid
- Police Check
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance
- NDIS worker clearance - can get this later if successful in your application.
