The Sydney Private Hospital is a 90-bed rehabilitation hospital. The standard caseload will be made up of Orthopedic, Cardiac, Neuro and General Reconditioning patients, both inpatients and day only patients. Treatment opportunities also exist in our NDIS cohort.
The hospital forms part of a larger 11 hospital Group that offers specialized rehab services for both inpatients and outpatients as well as mobile services.
The Sydney Private Hospital is in the heart of Ashfield and offers an excellent workplace with a friendly and welcoming team culture. The hospital is 15 minutes' walk from Ashfield station, easily accessible by bus and has free parking onsite.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Accredited Exercise Physiologist at The Sydney Private Hospital. The hospital provides Inpatient & Outpatient Rehabilitation services as well as a rapidly growing Wellness & NDIS program. We are looking for a therapist who is eager, energetic and enjoys working in an MDT.
This position is to complement our growing outpatient rehabilitation service. It is a great opportunity to be part of our allied health and wellness programs with plenty of career progression pathways, mentoring programs with senior staff and being part of fun & energetic team.
DUTIES
- Working as an independent Exercise Physiologist in the outpatient day rehabilitation department with both individual patients and groups.
- Being proactive in recommendations concerning the hospital in all aspects of medical care.
- Application of relevant clinical knowledge in rehabilitation to ensure the level of care remains at the highest standard.
- Ensuring the reputation of excellence is maintained to the highest standard.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors/master's degree in Exercise Physiology
- ESSA accreditation
- 1-2 years' experience working as a therapist
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients, co-workers and other health professionals
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to plan and deliver high quality patient care
- Exceptional time management skills
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Experience working in the Private Hospital sector is highly desirable
- SIRA (Workcover) number desirable but not essential
- NDIS experience desirable but not essential
