We specialise in the application of medical imaging in both diagnosis and treatment to improve outcomes for all.University Geelong Hospital employs 22 Radiologists and 16 RANZCR accredited Registrars - with an additional two fellow/advanced trainee positions. UHG is currently the major clinical training facility for the Deakin University Medical School. Barwon Medical Imaging has a strong commitment to teaching and research. We use our resources efficiently and productively to optimise service delivery.BMI provides medical imaging services across five sites, and support Acute Service delivery 24/7 at University Hospital Geelong.BMI's
Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT Department at UHG offers a diverse rane of procedures and studies within a private and public setting, operating two GE SPECT/CT's (670 Discovery and 879DR) . The PET/CT facility is a custom built department that is serviced by SIEMENS mCT system. The Department also has a fully equipped radiopharmacy laboratory which undertakes reconstitution of radiopharmaceuticals, dispensing of patient doses and all relevant quality control mechanisms. Further studies such as blood labels and other cold laboratory duties are also undertaken.About the Role: Barwon Medical Imaging

Nuclear Medicine Advanced Trainee Position is a 2 year Program as dictated by JSAC requirements. This is a 12 month position which will commence in February, 2025.This position provides a recently qualified Radiology or Physician candidate with advanced training in all aspects of
Nuclear Medicine and PET to fulfil RANZCR, RACP and JSAC requirements to meet Year 1 or 2 requirements.The successful applicants, if they are Radiology Trainees, will also assist in general Radiology reporting and participate in the roster for after-hours, on-call and recall by the unit.All candidates MUST have passed their Part I FRACP examination or Part II FRANZCR examination.If you have the qualifications and aptitude along with excellent interpersonal skills and the commitment to improving patient care, this may be the role for you!You will have the opportunity to be part of a highly skilled, professional, friendly and dedicated workforce who take pride in providing high-quality service.
