UQ College (UQC) Limited was formed in 2010 and is a wholly owned subsidiary company and Registered Training Organisation for The University of Queensland. In addition to a number of TESOL courses, UQC delivers the UQ Foundation Program to international students, the Tertiary Preparation Program to domestic students and two Vocational Education and Training qualifications, the Certificate IV in Adult Tertiary Preparation and the Graduate Certificate in Positive Behaviour Support.

UQ College is seeking to employ additional teaching staff to deliver courses within the College's growing suite of pathway programs in the following subject areas:
- Academic English
- Mathematics (General/Maths Methods)
- Accounting
- Economics
- Humanities and Social Sciences
- Research
Type of Employment: Casual with the possibility to move to Full Time
Primary Purpose of Position
Successful appointees will facilitate the delivery of high-quality university preparation courses for students on a pathway to undergraduate degrees at The University of Queensland.
Duties:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Contribute to curriculum development, delivery and evaluation in the nominated area of teaching and learning.
- Evaluate student academic performance in formative and summative assessment and provide feedback which is both timely and informative
- Report on student academic progress and liaise with academic support staff, as required.
- Assist in the development of contextual expertise regarding teaching and learning for students from EAL or low socio-economic backgrounds by demonstrating a reflective teaching practice.
- Demonstrate a nuanced pedagogical understanding of face-to-face, blended and virtual delivery modes when teaching international students.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of ICT for teaching and learning; including applications such as student and learning management systems, MS Office 365, H5P, authenticity software and screen casting tools.
Organisational Relationships
- These positions report to a designated Academic Manager and work in liaison with a Course Coordinator
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
- A degree in one or more relevant subject areas, including a teaching/education qualification
- At least 5 years’ relevant teaching experience and demonstrated knowledge and skills in post-secondary education
- Demonstrated experience in teaching second language learners in an academic setting
- Demonstrated specialist knowledge and skills in educational technology and e-Learning
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with a team of educators
- Proven ability to remain calm under pressure, to manage time effectively and to find quick and appropriate solutions to problems and challenges in a complex work environment.
- Current Blue Card or QCT registration
Highly Desirable
- A Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116)
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and experience in teaching mature-aged students
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in assessment development and administration
- Knowledge of the associated QCAA syllabi
