  • Location: Nauiyu Community

YOUR ROLE

The Activity Supervisor - Hospitality is responsible for supervising, upskilling, training, supporting, and encouraging Community Development Program (CDP) Jobseekers to participate in the new Project: Hospitality.

This project aims to seek out paid contracts via community councils or other local organisations and businesses with the goal to develop a steady stream of work to directly employ participants after they have been upskilling for 12 weeks.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an organised and motivated candidate with:

  • Ability to stay in the Daly region (accommodation provided) at least 3 nights per week and safely tow a food trailer and drive 4x4 vehicle across the Darwin Daly region
  • Multiple skills in the Hospitality industry, including food hygiene, food preparation and packaging, barista skills, customer service, cash handling, developing and costing menus, and food presentation
  • Strong ability to motivate and lead small teams with empathy and positivity
  • Ability to work with disadvantaged people with the view to make a positive difference to their lives
  • Ability to supervise and develop meaningful activities while adhering to the Community Development Program (CDP) guidelines
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and be able to provide a high level of service to all stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work well in a small team and with community stakeholders and leaders
  • Demonstrated capacity to self-manage commitments and deadlines and solve routine problems.
  • Good oral and written communication skills including strong digital literacy
  • Significant experience in a client service role including managing conflict resolution
  • Proven ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Indigenous Australians and people from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • A knowledge and understanding of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in all matters
  • Successfully obtain a Working with Children's (Ochre) Card and National Police Clearance

WE OFFER:

  • Above Award wages - $65,000 - $70,000 p.a. plus super
  • Salary Packaging (ATO-approved way of maximising your salary by minimising your tax)
  • 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading
