Community Development Programme Employment Consultant and Activity Supervisors to work in one of the remote communities we serve
Ngurratjuta Community Development Programme (CDP), Alice Springs Far West Region provides jobs, participation and Community-Development services in Haasts Bluff, Papunya, Mt Liebig, Kintore, and Nyirripi. The programme supports people to build their skills to get a job or to participate in activities that contribute to the strength and sustainability of communities.
About the Role:
We are looking for candidates who would like to work in one of our communities to enhance the lives of community members.
CDP is the part of our business that satisfies our core mission: to enhance the skills and the opportunities available to people on the communities in which we serve. We currently have opportunities for a motivated couple to work as Consultants/Supervisors. While previous experience would be great, we prioritize a great work ethic and the ability work on and become part of the community.
Core duties:
- Strengthen relationships with local business and connection with Community Organisations.
- Create employment opportunities for our clients
- Deliver an individualised service to each participant
- Work with each participant in a culturally appropriate strengths-based model to supports them to achieve their goals
- Meet the compliance requirements associated with CDP.
About you:
You’ll understand that the administrative element of the job is crucial, but you’ll also be:
- Able to identify aspirations, motivation and increasing employment opportunities for clients
- Have good communication skills and ability to work with diverse individuals and groups
- Able to build rapport and maintain effective relationships with clients, peers and relevant agencies from culturally diverse backgrounds
- Able to manage time and workloads effectively to business priorities in a challenging environment
- Understanding of barriers to employment and the effects of unemployment
- Be self-motivated and creative in the workplace
- Able to demonstrate high level of professionalism, compliance and attention to detail
- Preferably, possess a road knowledge of the Community Development Program
- Have a good knowledge of Work, Health & Safety policies
