About us
The Australian Education Union is the principal trade union in the public education sector and has over 180,000 members throughout the country. In the Northern Territory the AEU NT Branch’s membership of approximately 2000 is drawn from public schools and education offices, post-compulsory and TAFE institutions, Batchelor College, Charles Darwin University and prison educators in the Department of Corrections. The Australian Education Union NT Branch represents the professional and industrial interests of members and strives to ensure equal access to education provision in the Northern Territory. The AEU is a democratic organisation.
Role Tasks & Responsibilities
- Maintain and update member database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information and efficient onboarding of new members and other membership related administration.
- Update and maintain organisational social media accounts and website as directed.
- General administrative tasks such as directing phone calls and emails, distributing electronic correspondence as appropriate, and supporting other branch staff to fulfil tasks as needed.
- Other duties as requested by the Branch President or Secretary
Key Selection Criteria
Essential:
- Experience in an administrative role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, OneDrive
- Strong social media skills (Facebook and Instagram)
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Current NT Drivers License or equivalent
Desired:
- Experience working with a database
- Experience working in a membership based organisation
- A commitment to unionism and NT Public Education
Conditions of Employment
- To commence ASAP
- Part-time, 20-25 hours/week (negotiable based on availability and need)
- Fixed-term AO3 position of 12 months
- Salary range $64,773 - $69,746 (pro-rata) plus superannuation.How to Apply
