We are looking for a highly motivated individual to assist in supporting a group of orthopaedic surgeons based at Darwin Private Hospital. The surgeons are dedicated to providing excellence in patient focused care and restoring quality of life to the people of the Northern Territory.
This is a full-time role. Flexibility and overtime required.
Responsibilities (but not be limited to):
- Meet and greet patients.
- Manage all phone calls and emails in a timely manner.
- Schedule and manage patient appointments.
- Co-ordinate theatre bookings, including pre-operative workup and post-operative follow-up.
- Attend to general enquiries ensuring effective communication with patients and other medical professionals.
- Issue patient invoices, receipts and patient quotes; and attend to account enquiries.
- Manage all practice billing processes including ECLIPSE, HIC online, EFTPOS; and attend to bad debtors.
- Stock control and ordering.
- Provide administrative support to the surgeons.
- General administrative duties.
Essential Skills:
- The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a small team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A strong understanding of patient confidentiality.
- Solid organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Friendly and effective communication.
- Provide high-level customer service.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task effectively while maintaining consistent attention to detail.
Your previous secretarial experience will be essential and sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook). High standards of presentation are also essential.
