The Opportunity
Peninsula Private Hospital are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Administration Manager to join deliver exceptional customer service and ensure effective administration practices. This critical role is responsible for overseeing to interface with the Building Contractors, head office and the General Manager. Suited for an outstanding candidate to lead our busy Administration functions across Peninsula Private Hospital located on the Redcliffe Peninsula.
Are you looking for a contract role opportunity to lead a team of highly skilled administration professionals to deliver exceptional customer service across our hospital? As the Administration Manager, you will lead a team consisting of Reception, Private Health Billings Officer, Theatre Bookings, Sessional Consulting Suite & Pre-Admission staff as well as Ward Clerks. You will provide outstanding support to the patient services, our doctors and reception team across our hospital to ensure delivery of exceptional customer service for patients, staff and doctors.
This is a Full-time position of 76 hours per fortnight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the day-to-day across efficient hospital process workflow in line with best practices in patient bookings, admissions, discharges, billing and collections, meeting KPI and financial targets.
- Maintaining a high-performing Administration Department that delivers results and ensures success by visibly leading a values and safety-led workplace culture. Provide coaching, development and performance management. Deliver the daily management of workforce planning.
- Supporting VMO partners by building and maintaining positive working relationships ensuring that they adopt the hospital’s administration processes and ways of working.
- Maximising efficiencies with management of resources, proactively identifying and implementing performance improvements that leverage data.
About You
- Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience working within private health care with managerial responsibilities of a large team.
- Demonstrated people leadership and supervisory skills (Lead from the front)
- Established planning and organisational skills; ability to implement process improvement
- Knowledge of patient administration & admission systems
- Knowledge of health fund / DVA / third party / workers compensation contracts
- Efficient and effective rostering skills.
- High level IT and Computer skills
- Advanced use of MS Office Suite
- Well-developed problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Self-directed and motivated with the ability to effectively plan and prioritise
- Previous experience with WebPAS
- Experience in managing/undertaking switchboard functions
- Well-developed professional communication skills (written and spoken)

With 70 inpatients Surgical, Medical and Rehabilitation beds, a rehabilitation gym and 3 operating theatres located on the idyllic Redcliffe Peninsula our facility averages 760 admissions per month. Specialties include orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, gynaecology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology and internal medicine and the delivery of leading rehabilitation services and programs on the Brisbane Northside.
