The Women’s Museum of Australia and Old Gaol- (WMoA)are looking for applicants who have notable professionalism, a calm personable manner & a genuine sense of community.
The WMoA is a dynamic Museum that enriches the cultural, social, and intellectual life of Alice springs and Australian communities exhibiting stories which showcase the special contribution to Australia's heritage that women in many endeavours have made, not only for the benefit of their communities, but as lasting legacies that can inspire future generations. The WMoA is situated in the heritage-listed Old Gaol; where people can explore prison life and learn about the history of incarceration as well as getting a hands-on feeling for what life inside the cells was like for prisoners of the day.
The WMoA has a small but dedicated pool of staff and Volunteers who work together as a team to educate, inspire and empower people by exploring the distinctive history and contributions of Australian women and share the stories and impact of the Old Alice Springs Gaol.

Position summary.
The AO is responsible for overall preservation and growth of the museum including marketing, volunteer coordination, daily administration, sales, shop management and event and project management. Emphasis will be on grant opportunities, growing museum membership along with development and execution with the Management Committee of programs and fundraisers.
The WMoA promotes diversity and flexible ways of working part-time.

- NT Working with Children Check (Ochre card)
- Safe NT National Police check.
Additionally, the successful applicant will have:
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of customer experience
- Strong computer literacy skills, and knowledge of MS Office and social media platforms, (or the ability to learn)
- Knowledge of website management (or the ability to learn)
- Good organisational skills
- Attention to detail, and able to change tasks easily.
- Ability to work in a team.
