The Administration Officer for the Breast & Endocrine Surgical Unit is required to provide a customer-focused reception service for patients, families, and other consumers. Providing best-practice administrative services to ensure efficient and effective day to day management of the Unit will contribute to the ongoing service improvement to develop a customer focussed administrative service.
About the Role:
As the Administration Officer, your duties may include:
- Welcoming patients on arrival and providing the relevant information to the patient regarding the appointment
- Facilitating the booking of follow-up appointments
- Effectively processing telephone calls and faxed referrals including bookings, cancellations, reappointments and other enquiries
- Contributing to developing strategies to reduce demand for services, reduce the number of patients who do not attend, reduce the number of wrong bookings and over bookings
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience with Data input and retrieval of patient information, utilising hospital specific computer programs
- The ability to maintain confidentiality; tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and personal details
- Experience in a reception and/or customer service role and in general administrative duties
- To communicate effectively and develop sound working relationships with patients and staff at all levels
