Our facility: Gemfields Primary Care Clinic is based in the Sapphire Gemfields area, 64 km from Emerald. The Primary Care Clinic operates 5 days per week servicing a diverse population with high level of chronic disease across the townships of Sapphire, Rubyvale, Anakie and Willows.
The location: Emerald is a rural town located in the Central Highlands Region, Queensland, Australia., a short 270kms from Rockhampton City, the town boasts year-round events such as the Gemfields Festival, Gala in the Garden, Emerald 100 Race Day plus the iconic Derby Day just to name a few.

About us:
Gemfields Primary Care Clinic is based in the Sapphire Gemfields area, 64 km from Emerald. The Primary Care Clinic operates 5 days per week servicing a diverse population with high level of chronic disease across the townships of Sapphire, Rubyvale, Anakie and Willows. The resident population is approximately 900, which increases significantly throughout the winter months.
The clinic is operated by the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse (EEN) and Medical Officer 3 days per week. Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) are located on a full-time basis in Sapphire.
The Gemfields is classified as remote and is a designated RANIP site.
About the role:
- To provide a high standard of administrative support to all functional areas within the Health Facility.
- Respond to all enquiries and provide information, assistance and promote good public relations to staff, patients and visitors to facilitate effective service delivery with the Gemfields Primary Care Clinic.
- Contribute to patient flow by performing a support role to nursing and medical staff.
- The role of this position is to provide timely and accurate information to staff, clients and the public where appropriate.
- The reception booking clerk will be a dynamic and self-motivated person who thrives on working in a busy environment.
The ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Problem solving skills, and the ability to perform duties on a day-to-day basis in the absence of decision makers, demonstrating ability to evaluate and formulate information.
- High level of interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with officers at all levels within a large organisation, the general public and external agencies in a professional manner demonstrating tact, diplomacy and discretion.
- Ability to establish work priorities and meet deadlines when work priorities conflict.
Salary information:
Total remuneration value of up to $56,886 p.a. is comprised of:
- A salary between $37.68 - $41.90 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
