The VAD Administration Support Officer is responsible for providing high quality Administration Support to the Senior Medical Officer and Clinical Nurse Consultant and be a central point of contact for enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
The VAD Administrative Support Officer reports to the Business Manager Perioperative, Women's Health and Ambulatory Care.
About the Team
The role of the MHHS Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) Coordination service is to ensure all eligible persons within the MHHS catchment seeking VAD services, and those involved in their care, receive compassionate, professional, safe, and timely VAD support.
The MHHS VAD Care Co-ordination team seeks to support the following functions within the health service:
- Provision of information, education, and support regarding VAD processes to MHHS staff.
- Assistance with the provision of VAD services within MHHS facilities or services.
- Provision of counselling resources that contribute to the wellbeing of those involved in VAD processes.
- Operational management to ensure a sustainable, quality, and safe VAD support service across MHHS.
- Data collection and reporting, in line with the Queensland Health VAD Unit's guidelines.
- Coordination of requests for patient information from practitioners external to MHHS, who require this information to determine a person's eligibility for VAD.
- Coordination of internal requests from practitioners seeking a referral for determination.
