About the role:

Our private client is an Australian owned and operated family business proudly serving Canberra to provide window treatments to residents and commercial business premises.

They stock a range of quality products from trusted Australian manufacturers and suppliers, and have the industry knowledge to provide advice to suit any environment. 

Due to an increase in business activity and recent staff movement, they need a motivated Administrative Support Coordinator to join their team. They are looking for someone who is keen to demonstrate their initiative, apply their administrative skills, and demonstrate their ability to organise and schedule appointments for staff and customers.

Training will be provided, and the main requirements are a willingness to learn, engage with new processes, and provide excellent customer service. This is a highly diverse role that offers huge variation in terms of incorporating aspects of customer service, administration, purchasing, and scheduling duties. There is also the scope for growth in the organisation. 

Duties

Front of house duties:

  • Answer and filter phone calls in a professional manner
  • Answer, distribute and respond to emails
  • Provided backup support to showroom consultant
  • Schedule and manage all aspects of the electronic diary for numerous team members
  • Process EFTPOS payments
  • Accept and sign for incoming freight

Administrative duties:

  • Co-ordinate collection of freight
  • Manage office electronic work in progress (WIP) Register
  • Ensure WIP filing is current and track late deliveries
  • Respond to customer inquiries and ETAs
  • Provide on-going support to office staff
  • Purchasing duties, including the order uniforms, stock, kitchen supplies and stationery

Required experience and skills

  • Microsoft suite experience, in particular experience using Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent typing skills
  • Ability to use a variety of forms
  • A current Driver's Licence is essential
  • The initiative and desire to learn and understand every aspect of this industry
