Why this role matters:
The Administrator, Rural Campus Support, Health Workforce, contributes to the implementation and evaluation of operational processes, supporting the delivery of the undergraduate and post-graduate programs at the Rural Clinical Campuses.
With a focus on the activities of UNSW Regional Training Hubs (RTH), the role provides high quality administrative and logistical support to the Director, Regional Training Hub, and requires a close working relationship with the Administrative Officer, Rural Campus Coordinator and Director of Medical Education at the identified campus.
The role involves significant liaison, interaction, and engagement with internal and external stakeholders to support the administration of local rural medical workforce initiatives, training pathways and opportunities for primary care and other discipline-specific extended rural training placements. With strong communication skills and an ability to interact on various levels, the position holder will also be involved in other campus activities, including operational imperatives and course requirements at the campus, as required.
The Administrator, Rural Campus Support, Health Workforce, reports to the Administrative Officer, Rural Campus Coordinator at the identified Rural Clinical Campus and has no direct reports.
Skills Required:
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent level of knowledge and competence gained through another combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience in the coordination, implementation and review of scheduling, course material, and other support initiatives, ensuring confidentiality, discretion and tact where required.
- Proven problem-solving skills and initiative in a process driven environment with multiple tasks and competing deadlines, whilst maintaining accuracy, attention to detail and accountability.
- Strong time-management and organisational skills and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate with people at all levels including from diverse backgrounds and cultures, verbally and in writing.
- Excellent computer literacy and skills in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and an ability to learn and gain competence in UNSW systems-based applications in a timely manner.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and a commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
