These services include the provision of case management; intensive family support; counselling for women, men, youth, and children; and programs for men, women, and children.BWAHS has developed an excellent record for providing high-quality family violence and trauma-informed Intensive Case Management, Integrated Family Services responses and evidence-based therapeutic programs to individuals and groups for a whole-of-family approach.We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Adolescent Using Violence Practitioner to join our Integrated Family Services team in Bayswater, Melbourne.Please Note: This is an Aboriginal-identified position, only Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants are eligible to apply.About the OpportunityDue to ongoing growth, BWAHS is currently seeking an Adolescent Using Violence Practitioner to join our team in Bayswater, Melbourne full-time.This role is not just a job but a meaningful journey, specially designed for compassionate individuals who have extensive cultural knowledge and understanding of the complex needs and solutions for families affected by adolescent violence in the home.In this pivotal role, you will be at the heart of our outreach efforts, focusing on meeting with families to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop multifaceted case plans. These plans will address the complex, multi-level needs of entire families, with a particular emphasis on young individuals Using Violence within their family dynamics.Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Engaging directly with families, building trust and understanding their unique situationsConducting thorough family assessments, crafting detailed and holistic case plansProviding relentless support to families in connecting with necessary referralsOperating in an outreach capacity, actively engaging people and managing cases with a focus on parents and parenting strategiesReporting directly to the Senior Manager, ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives and maintaining the highest standards of professional conductAbout YouTo be considered for this role, you will need demonstrated experience working with complex casework and case management with families affected by adolescent violence.A tertiary qualification in social work or equivalent, or a willingness to study is desirable. Demonstrated experience in working with families with complex needs such as family violence, drug and alcohol and mental health issuesa understanding of the complexity of the experience of family violence in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communitiesdemonstrate knowledge of Aboriginal culture and intergenerational trauma, with a commitment to the safety and healing of Aboriginal families, children, and young peopleexperiencing working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people both young and old, and being able to communicate and engage them to achieve effective outcomes Demonstrated organisational skills including the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise work tasksDemonstrated capacity to work creatively, show initiative, contribute ideas and be active in a supportive team environment in a busy family service.Strong capacity to engage in collaborative practiceDemonstrated high-level written, oral and interpersonal communication skillsPlease note: You will need to hold or be willing to obtain a current National Police Check, Working with Children Check and basic First Aid Qualification.
