Job description

Hospital in the Home, Access Services are looking for an Advanced Carer Peer Worker to join their Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services team. The Mental Health Hospital in the Home Program (MH-HITH) for MSAMHS will provide hospital substitution care, providing inpatient assessment and treatment services outside the hospital setting for people presenting/experiencing an acute episode of mental illness.

About the Role

Using your personal lived/living experience as a carer of a person of mental health issues, model recovery strategies and work towards achieving the best outcomes for carers and families of consumers admitted to an acute adult inpatient ward.

Provide carers and families with education, information, referrals and support from the personal carer experience and of utilising mental health services and non-government agencies.
