Mater are currently seeking a highly motivated Advanced Clinical Coder to join our Clinical Coding Services team on a permanent full time or part time basis. This role will code across all Maters and is based at Mater's South Brisbane Campus. There are work from home options available.

Salary range: $48.87 - $53.18 (MCA5) per hour/annum plus superannuation and access to generous salary packaging
What you'll be doing
- Accurately assign specific morbidity and procedural classification to patient episodes to meet data reporting requirements
- Code inpatient episodes in accordance with Australian Coding Standards
- Meet standards of coding accuracy and awareness of DRG assignment and the impact on potential funding
- Identification of unclear or ambiguous documentation and subsequent initiation of coding queries
- Participate in coding audit, quality and education to expand coding skills
- Apply the principles of confidentiality, privacy and security with the medical environment
You will have a HIMAA Introductory/Intermediate Clinical Coding Course/Certificate 1V in Clinical Classification (or equivalent). You will also have:
- Up to date Clinical Coding knowledge using ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS
- Experience using 3M Encoder
- Strong organisation skills in planning, prioritising and managing workloads
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Understanding of private sector funding models (Desirable)
- Experience using Webpas, iPM, and scanned medical records (Desirable)
