Trainees will fulfil the service requirements of their Department, which may include attendance and participation in multidisciplinary meetings; clinical meetings; journal clubs, supervision and education of junior medical staff and active participation in antibiotic stewardship, infection control and/or ambulatory care programs. Each hospital will have differing service requirements reflecting the individual identity of each institution as well as the different populations (e.g. spinal or burns patients) and sub-specialities (e.g. hepatitis or HIV) accommodated at each of the different hospitals. The Advanced Trainee will also be involved in clinical management of patients in the outpatient setting including Immunology/Infectious Disease, HIV and Sexual Health Clinics.
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category
- Completion of at least four postgraduate years of medical practice
- Successful completion of the examination requirements of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent and eligible to undertake subspecialty training in Infectious Diseases in Australia
- This position is subject to an appropriate supervision level which can be supported by the health agency. If the incumbent’s registration conditions include supervision requirements, the level of supervision must be able to be supported by the health agency for this role.

- Cleared National Police Check
- To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy, this includes any amendments made from time to time.
