Responsibilities:- CAD Drafting: Assist in the creation of detailed drawings and plans using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. Work closely with senior draftspersons to translate conceptual designs into accurate technical drawings.
- Take-Off: Collaborate with project teams to perform material take-offs from drawings and specifications. Accurately quantify the required materials for construction projects, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Bill of Materials (BOM) Generation: Compile comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs) based on project specifications and requirements. Organise and document material lists to facilitate efficient procurement and construction processes.
- Purchasing Support: Assist in the purchasing process by preparing purchase orders, obtaining quotes from suppliers, and tracking material deliveries. Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to meet project deadlines.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of drawings, BOMs, purchase orders, and project documentation. Organise and archive project files for easy retrieval and reference.
- Training and Development: Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance your skills in CAD drafting, material take-off, and purchasing procedures. Seek opportunities for continuous learning and professional development.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification required; additional education or training in drafting or engineering preferred.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and documentation.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of construction materials, methods, and terminology.
- Familiarity with purchasing procedures and supply chain management concepts is a plus.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
- Ability to work under supervision and follow instructions from senior staff members.
