Exciting New Role- Permanent, Full-time, Herston | Lead the development and implementation of state-wide workforce strategies and reform activities, to enhance the capacity and practice of the allied health workforce, to improve service delivery for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Queensland

The role  
Leveraging advanced clinical expertise, you will play a crucial role in shaping allied health service delivery and workforce initiatives, particularly focusing on the health outcomes of First Nations people. Your leadership and project management skills will be instrumental in leading the allied health component of the Growing Deadly Families Strategy and First 2000 Days initiatives in collaboration with the Office of the Chief First Nations Health Officer and the Office of the Midwifery Officer. You will also be responsible for initiating, developing, implementing, and evaluating state-wide allied health strategies and projects, covering workforce capacity, clinical education, research, digital innovation, and leadership. Your specialist knowledge of First Nations Health workforce issues will guide the development of strategies to enhance cultural capability. 

Additionally, you will represent Queensland Health in liaison and consultation with internal and external stakeholders, including allied health professional associations, educational institutions, registration authorities, and industrial organizations, on complex and sensitive health workforce issues and projects. Your responsibilities also extend to the development of high-quality reports, submissions, plans, and communication tools, addressing diverse stakeholders' needs within and outside Queensland Health. Offering authoritative advice to senior management, including the Director First Nations People and Chief Allied Health Officer, you will provide leadership in developing clinical education, research, training, and digital innovation strategies to support the evolution of allied health service models of care catering to the specific needs of First Nations People.

The successful person
It is mandatory that you hold a formal recognised qualification in an allied health profession with relevant professional registration, or eligibility for membership/accreditation with a professional association.
Success in this role demands demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and experience in delivering diverse allied health services, contributing to enhanced health outcomes for First Nations peoples. 

Furthermore, the position requires a thorough comprehension of First Nations health and wellbeing, encompassing the challenges and opportunities in health service delivery, workforce development, education, and training within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Additionally, you should showcase proven high-level community consultation skills, demonstrating your ability to engage effectively with First Nations communities, families, health services, and stakeholders.
