About the role
Our control operations team is currently seeking an Advisor Control Systems to join them on a dayshift only roster FIFO from Perth to Port Hedland. Reporting to the Superintendent Control Systems, you will develop, maintain, and provide technical support for the process Control Systems and fixed plant equipment, to improve and optimise plant performance across our Port facility.
The nominal roster for this position is FIFO 4 days on; 3 days off. Alternative rosters including 8 days on; 6 days off may be considered in the future.
Duties
- Deliver Control Systems support to maintain the safety, reliability, and availability of all process plant equipment
- Investigate the root cause of plant downtime related to Control Systems and identify improvement opportunities
- Deliver Control Systems design, programming and commissioning for improvement projects and optimisation of plant performance
- Maintain and update controlled drawings and technical documentation
- Monitor Control Systems alarms and review and manage the bridge and bypass register
Skills and experience
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (Electrical, Control Systems, Mechatronics or Computer Science) or electrical trade qualifications with further Control Systems studies/ experience
- Curious mindset with a willingness to learn and develop
- Collaborative with a passion for problem solving
- PLC and SCADA systems experience, and processing plant and/ or port operations experience within a mining operations environment will be beneficial
- Experience working with balance machines (stackers, reclaimers, ship loaders), car dumpers, anti-collision systems (ACS) and stockpile management systems (SMS) advantageous
