Senior Engineer – Process Control

Role Overview:

As a Senior Process Control Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the programming and maintenance of Process Control and automation systems. Your responsibilities will include implementing and supporting site-wide and corporate systems, monitoring maintenance systems, assisting in change management initiatives, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and driving continuous improvement targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and support Process Control systems programming, commissioning, and maintenance across various areas including Processing Plant, Power Generation facilities, Underground Services, and Site Services.
• Monitor maintenance systems and performance measures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
• Collaborate with the Process Control Superintendent on change management initiatives and business improvement projects.
• Develop and maintain safe work procedures to promote high safety and health awareness.
• Drive team efficiency and safety, ensuring legal compliance and environmental sustainability.
• Establish continuous improvement targets and measure achievements against them.
• Maintain up-to-date job procedures for all tasks performed.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Recognized tertiary qualifications in Instrumentation or Control Systems Engineering.
• Significant experience in leading a team in Process Control systems programming and maintenance, preferably in minerals processing or refining.
• Proficiency in DCS, PLC, and SCADA configuration, maintenance, and repair.
• Strong project management skills and experience.
• Demonstrated success in improving plant availability and performance through Process Control systems management.
• Experience in maintenance planning, service delivery monitoring, and reporting.
• Previous experience in contractor management and budgeting.
• Excellent leadership skills and the ability to promote team safety awareness.
• Thorough understanding of relevant legislation affecting the mining industry in PNG.
