Vision and Care is a NDIS provider based in Adelaide. We provide support services to people with disabilities in Adelaide and surrounding areas. We are looking for experienced Aged/ Disabled Carers with the right skills on a full time basis to help meet the needs of our expanding network of clients. Responsibilities & Duties
- Providing support and companionship to elderly and disabled individuals as they engage in their daily tasks and activities, ensuring their well-being and ease of participation.
- Aiding individuals in enhancing their ability to move and navigate, encompassing various forms of support to promote and improve their overall mobility.
- Organising and coordinating communal events or gatherings, fostering social interactions and engagement among individuals in a given community or group.
- Creating meals for individuals, taking into consideration their specific preferences and dietary needs, as part of the caregiving or culinary service provided.
- Providing support in maintaining personal hygiene and assisting with dressing, ensuring individuals' comfort and well-being in their daily routines.
- Conducting domestic chores, including tasks like vacuuming, and tidying up, to maintain a clean and orderly living environment for individuals or households.
- Offering companionship, fostering friendship, and providing emotional support to individuals, thereby promoting their overall well-being and mental health.
- Possibly residing together with the individual, sharing a living space to provide continuous support and companionship, ensuring immediate assistance and care as needed.
- Engaging in shopping activities and completing necessary tasks on behalf of someone, such as running errands, to assist them in managing their daily responsibilities and ensuring their needs are met.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum qualifications AQF Certificate III, or at least one year of relevant experience as an Aged/ Disabled Carer (ANZSCO Skill Level 4)
Other Requirements & Responsibilities:
- Must be qualified and competent in all aspects
- You must be an Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen or a visa holder with full time work rights
- At least 2 years of experience as an Aged & Disability Care Worker is highly desirable
- A friendly personality and positive attitude, be a team player
- Well-groomed and well presented
- Excellent communication skills including English language skills
- Prepared for immediate start and live in South Australia
- To be a reliable person with good references
- An understanding of the NDIS principles, policies and operational guidelines, and familiarity with disability legislation and the standards
- Must have Australian driving licence
- Current police clearance
- Hold an industry related qualification
- Full Australian Drivers License (P1,P2 or International Driver License will not be accepted)
- Working With Children Check & NDIS Workers Check
- Current First Aid & CPR certificate
- COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
