Bucketts Way Neighbourhood Group Inc. (BWNG) is looking to expand our Ageing and Disability Services Team.
We have multiple opportunities available for flexible and compassionate qualified Support Workers who hold an Ageing and Disability Services qualification at a minimum of Certificate III.
In the available positions, the successful applicants will provide both aged care and disability services in private homes as well as our activities hub known as ‘The Cottage’.
With empathy and compassion, the successful applicants will make a difference in the lives of local people by providing personal care, domestic assistance, help with meals and support in the community.
Ideally, we seek candidates who are available to work five days per week, however contracted hours may be negotiable for the right applicant. These roles fall under MA000100 – Social and Community Services Award 2010.
Duties
- Delivering domestic assistance such as dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms and toilets, mopping, washing dishes and emptying bins.
- Assisting with laundering, ironing and folding of items/garments and other cleaning services as requested.
- Observing and monitoring client wellbeing, and reporting any concerns or significant changes to the Team Leader or Case Manager.
- Providing transport, companionship and support for clients to attend appointments, run errands and participate in leisure activities
- Proven experience working as a support person within the Aged Care or Disability Support sectors, and in supporting clients in a way that respects their rights, dignity, values, beliefs and personal goals
- Great people skills, featuring a friendly communication style, and the ability to recognise and respect diversity
- A positive attitude, the ability to work well within a team and follow organisational policies and procedures
- Current Class C Driver’s licence or higher, and your own transport
- Up to date First Aid Certificate
- Ageing Support or Disability Support qualification at a minimum of Certificate III
- Will be prepared to undergo a Working with Children Check, National Police Check
- Comply with BWNG’s vaccine policy, including proof of Fluvax and double COVID-19 vaccination.
