Our Information & Communication Technology (ICT) team here at the Telethon Kids Institute is growing and we are now looking for an Agile Project Manager to lead and manage Agile projects within our new Cybersecurity Program, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products or solutions.
In this exciting newly created position, you will work closely with the Chief Technology Officer and Information Communication and Technology Manager to develop and maintain Agile project plans, including sprint plans, release plans, and roadmaps. You will also identify, assess and manage project risks to ensure efficient delivery of milestones and business outcomes.
This position will see you leverage your strong people skills which allow you to develop and maintain meaningful relationships and rapport with team members and stakeholders.
Some of your duties in this role will include, but not be limited to;
- Monitor project progress and performance metrics, such as velocity, burn-down/burn-up charts, and cycle time.
- Control and monitor project budgets.
- Be the primary point of contact between stakeholders and the project team by providing regular communication, status updates, reports and budget.
- Manage changes to project scope, requirements, or priorities and ensure proper documentation, communication, and implementation of changes.
- Coach and mentor Agile teams on Agile principles, practices, and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Foster experimentation, innovation, and learning from both successes and failures to drive incremental and transformative improvements in processes, practices, and outcomes.
Based at our modern office in Nedlands, this position will be offered on a full-time basis for 18 months.
About You
This position would suit someone who is a certified Scrum Master or as an Agile Project Manager with an IT background and has previous experience in a similar role.
Additionally, the key to your success will be your demonstrated experience in the following:
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Excellent coaching, mentoring, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
- Superior people skills with the ability to develop strong internal and external relationships.
- Ability to lead and work as part of a high-performing team in a complex and changing environment.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines.
- Previous experience in an Agile project management role at a research institute or similar organisation is highly desirable but not essential.
