Skillinvest has an opportunity for a committed and motivated candidate to undertake a full time Farm Hand Traineeship with the local agricultural training organisation, Longerenong College at Longerenong. Our trainee will receive ongoing mentoring whilst learning on-the-job and undertaking a 'Certificate III in Agriculture'.
Duties
- All areas of sheep management, including feeding and stock health
- Sheep handling, often with current equipment and assisting contractors
- Cropping and pasture establishment and management
- Property maintenance
Requirements
- Genuine interest in livestock and mixed farming
- Willingness to learn and adapt
- Be physically able to carry out manual and heavy work
- Mechanical aptitude
- Handle animals with confidence and patience
- Work long hours and in all kinds of weather
- Willingness to commit to work and study
- Current Manual driver's licence and reliable transport (desirable)

To be eligible to receive an Apprenticeship or Traineeship and the government funding, candidates must be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia. New Zealand citizens must have resided in Australia for over 6 months to be eligible.
