The Role
We are seeking Farm Hands to join us this snow season, to assist our Farm Mangers and Farm Overseers with the day to day operational aspects of livestock and pastoral management, with the key objective being to maximise the productivity and profitability of the cattle on the property, without compromising plant condition, livestock welfare or other staff. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a close-knit team of other staff dedicated to producing high quality beef in a beautiful alpine environment situated between Dinner Plain and Omeo, Victoria.
Skills + Experience Required
- Cattle handling and animal husbandry including feeding, monitoring of breeder calving (mandatory)
- Operation of farm machinery including light vehicles, tractors, and telehandler tractor/machinery in the snow (mandatory)
- Horse-riding & low stress livestock experience (desired)
- Cattle work and yard work
- Maintenance of and basic servicing of farm plant and equipment
- Fencing and water trough maintenance
- General farm duties and maintenance
- A commitment to and compliance with Safety
