Agricultural Research & Extension Coordinator

Location: Wickepin, Wheatbelt WA

Based in Wickepin Western Australia, the Facey Group is an innovative, highly motivated, organised and well-resourced mixed farming grower group with a strong focus on our local region. Grower driven & managed, the group aims to achieve economic, social and environmental sustainability throughout the region.

Due to continued demand for quality farmer driven Agricultural Research and demonstrations and to improve their service and commitment to current partners and funders, the Facey Group requires the services of an Agricultural Research & Extension Coordinator.

This role will see you contribute to research and extension in farming systems, livestock and natural resource management with a farmer driven and managed group. You will enjoy a varied role in a supportive and welcoming team environment. The role requires strong attention to detail, high organisational skills and someone who has an enthusiastic and innovative personality.

The Agricultural Research & Extension Coordinator will be involved in;

• Assisting in the development and implementation of projects.
• Assisting in the coordination of our Research, Development and Extension Committee.
• Monitoring, recording and communication of data gathered from experiments and trials.
• Organise and conduct fieldwork for our annual trial program.
• Assist with project administration including budgets and reports with the support of the Business Manager.
• Interacting with farmers regularly to ensure Facey Group remains robust, relevant and useful to our members and wider industry.
• Organise an array of field walks in coordination with the Events Coordinator.
• Be part of a dynamic team of Agriculture and Natural Resource Management professionals who support farmers in ensuring sustainability and resilience of their business.

Essential prerequisites for the role include current Australian 'C' class drivers licence, high level of proficiency of computing skills and highly developed written and verbal communication skills.

Essential requirements for the role include tertiary qualifications in Agriculture or Science or similar equivalent or demonstrated relevant experience and be willing to live locally.

The successful applicant will enjoy working both in the office and out in the field with a communal company vehicle and personal mobile phone for work purposes, as part of an attractive base salary plus superannuation.
