Are you an experienced broadacre Agronomist seeking full-time employment in Griffith, NSW?
We have a brilliant opportunity with our client, an independent agricultural asset management company. They manage numerous corporate scale agricultural assets across NSW, VIC, QLD, NT & Vanuatu incorporating a broad spectrum of cropping activities, from irrigated summer crops to winter dryland cereal cropping and livestock.
Additionally, our client has been leading the ‘step change’ in the orchard industry class encompassing Citrus, Kiwifruit, Almond & Pistachio’s.
The Role:
Commencing September, the function of the role is to research, design and deliver effective agronomy service programs for multiple properties (between Griffith and Hay) under the direction of the Regional Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Researching current crop production to discern best practice in relation to planning, harvesting and cultivation.
- Maintaining irrigation schedules, recommend and monitor chemical application & fertilisers.
- Collating field data for presentation and reporting.
- Ensuring accurate record keeping & accessibility for decision making purposes.
- Actively participating in team meetings.
What we need from You:
- A Degree in Agricultural Science with emphasis on agronomy or similar.
- Well-developed verbal, written and reporting skills.
- Able to build relationships quickly with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong commitment to continuous improvement.
- Able to work outside in all weather conditions and be personally fit enough to walk several kilometers daily as required.
- Competence in the use of current software applications.
- Able to work autonomously, and as part of a team.
- A current driver’s license.
- Maintaining a professional approach whilst still having fun.
