The Senior Radiographer - General and Fluoroscopy is responsible to the Campus Operations Manager for providing a timely and efficient imaging service across the full range of services within the General and Fluoroscopy area for the Medical Imaging at Flinders Medical Centre.
The incumbent supervises a small team functioning in the Level 2 General and Fluoroscopy settings which operate specialised equipment to perform diagnostic imaging examinations for clients/patients across a range of specialities of medicine using high levels of professional judgement. They contribute to clinical outcomes by providing services that form the basis of patient diagnosis and subsequent treatment and management by radiologists, referring clinicians and surgeons. They undertake complex procedures applying professional knowledge across a broad range of imaging procedures often requiring innovative scanning methods without professional direction.
The incumbent oversees the management of the daily work load of the unit, ensuring a timely and efficient service by determining procedure scheduling often as lead professional, ensuring appropriate human resources, including consultant radiologist, registrar, nursing and physical resources are available to undertake these procedures. Operating with minimal professional direction they establish procedural standards for general and fluoroscopy services at Flinders Medical Centre which is broad and complex in nature.
This role is a multi-skilled role with clinical practice duties in other Imaging areas dependant on skill set is required on a rotating basis.

Educational/Vocational Qualifications:
- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification, which entitles a statement of accreditation in Diagnostic Radiography from the Australian Institute of Radiography, or its recognised equivalent (up to July 2012) and then registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (post July 2012).
- Holds a Radiation Licence.
