The Senior Radiographer - Mobile Imaging Service (MIS) is responsible to the Campus Operations Manager for providing a timely and efficient Mobile Imaging Service across the full range of general x-ray to referrers of the MIS which geographically covers areas serviced by all Metropolitan Local Health Networks.
They supervise a small team functioning in the Mobile Imaging Service setting who operate specialised equipment to perform diagnostic imaging examinations for clients/patients from residential aged care facilities, the SA Prison Health Service and Mental Health Services at Glenside and James Nash house, across a range of specialities of medicine using high levels of professional judgement. They contribute to clinical outcomes by providing services that form the basis of patient diagnosis and subsequent treatment and management by radiologists, referring clinicians and surgeons. They operate under complex conditions, applying professional knowledge across a broad range of imaging procedures, often requiring innovative methods without professional direction.
Qualifications
- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification, which entitles a statement of accreditation in Diagnostic Radiography from the Australian Institute of Radiography, or its recognised equivalent (up to July 2012) and then registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (post July 2012).
- Holds a Radiation Licence.
