With over 80 aircraft across our bases in Archerfield QLD and Bankstown NSW, we design and provide pilot training with an emphasis on quality, safety, and continuous development. Basair Group includes Basair Aviation College for full time students, Sydney Aviators for recreational pilots, UAVAIR drone training, Australia By Air for charter and Eagle Aircraft Maintenance.
Our Eagle Aircraft Maintenance team support our education and charter operations by ensuring our fleet of Seminoles, Piper (single & twin engine), Cessna (single & twin engine) and Beechcraft Barons are well maintained and safe for our students and clients to use. The team prides itself on delivering superior repairs and maintenance for each client every time both within the Basair Group or to our external private clients.
The Role
Eagle Aircraft Maintenance has full-time opportunities available for experienced General Aviation Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (LAME) and Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME) at both our Bankstown Airport, NSW and Archerfield Airport, QLD hangars. The roles will report to the Chief Engineer.
The key responsibilities include:
- Performing regular maintenance on our fleet of Seminoles, Piper, Cessna and Beechcraft Barons (e.g 100 hourly)
- Testing and troubleshooting structural, mechanical, or systems repairs with urgency based on the requirements of the client
- Mentoring and supporting junior staff members including AMEs and Apprentices
- Maintaining job records including timesheets, worksheets, and maintenance logs
- Working with the Store Person to ensure tools and parts are accounted for and in good working order and/or arranging for replacements as necessary
- Maintain a clean, safe operating environment for staff and visitors
- Taking accountability for safety of themselves, the team, and staff and students who work around the hangar, by proactively identifying and addressing safety hazards or issues
- Liaising with students and customers, assisting them with queries or providing information where necessary
Selection Criteria
The must-have requirements to be considered for the role include:
- B1 Engine and Airframe Licence for LAME
- Mechanical background for AME
- Minimum 4 years work experience as a LAME/AME in General Aviation
- Piston Engine experience essential
- Ability to work in Australia
- Current valid driver’s licence preferred
- As this role has frequent interaction with other staff members and students, vaccination will be required in line with our COVID vaccination policy
