Are you ready to take on an exciting role in aviation? We are seeking a skilled and experienced Aircraft Loading Supervisor to join our team. The Aircraft Loading Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the safe and efficient loading and unloading of aircraft cargo, passenger baggage and mail ensuring compliance with all regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This role requires strong leadership abilities, exceptional organisational skills, and a keen attention to detail.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the loading and unloading of aircraft according to Precision Time Schedules (PTSs) and Instruction Reports.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to SOPs and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries during the loading and unloading process.
  • Communicate effectively with ground crew, airline personnel, and other stakeholders to coordinate loading activities and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Conduct pre-flight inspections of aircraft compartments and equipment to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
  • Mentor loading team members on proper loading techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation.
  • Maintain accurate records of cargo weights, baggage pieces and loading times, as well as any other relevant data for reconciliation, reporting and analysis purposes.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in Aircraft Loading or related aviation operations, including a supervisory or leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Aircraft Loading procedures, safety regulations, and weight and balance principles.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and coordinate activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. 
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends and public holidays.
  • Proficiency in using computerised loading systems and other relevant software applications.
  • Valid state Driver’s Licence. 
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, often weighing up to 32kg or more.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the airport. 
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
