The Barkly Region covers more than 320,000 km2 stretching from the old Telegraph Station at Barrow Creek in the south to the historical droving township of Newcastle Waters in the north. Located approximately 1000km south of Darwin and 500km north of Alice Springs. Tennant Creek has a population of 3,252 and is the largest town in the region.

The estimated population of the Barkly Regional Council is 6,316 spread over 7 communities (2 regional towns and 5 remote communities). About the Role:
The position of Ali Curung Team Leader – Community Care Curung is responsible for the provision of community-based Aged Care and Disability Support Services in remote settings.
The key responsibilities of this role are to coordinate effective and efficient service provision practices for our clients, whilst maintaining a high-quality service to clients and staff within the Community Care Team.
The Essentials:
- Territory qualifications or equivalent experience in aged or disability programs.
- Proven leadership and motivation skills with the ability to work with aged, disability, and community groups.
- A current driver’s licence.
- Have completed 4WD training or have a willingness to undertake training.
- A current Working with Children Card (OCHRE Card).
- A current National Police Criminal History Check.
The Finer Details:
- Salary $80,057.24 per annum ($1,539.56 gross per week).
- Remote Community Zone Allowance of $2.5100 per ordinary hour.
- 11% Superannuation.
- 17.5% Leave Loading

- Relocation Assistance of up to $5,000.
- The successful applicant may be eligible for a housing subsidy of up to $330.00 per week in compliance with the Council’s Tennant Creek Staff Housing Policy.
