Role description
The Allied Health Assistant (AHA) is responsible for carrying out Allied Health therapies under the direction of the Allied Health Professionals (AHP). The role is working with patients in the inpatient acute, inpatient rehabilitation, TCP program, and the ‘Better at Homes' portfolio of programs. The role will also work with residents of our residential care facilities and outpatient clients in our Ambulatory Care programs.
The AHA will work as part of a dynamic multidiscipline team to deliver therapy as prescribed by the relevant Allied Health professional.
The AHA supports activities of daily living, including both group work and one on one therapeutic interventions, and other activities and recreationally focused programs as required to provide client centered care.
About you
Must meet one of the following qualification requirements:
- Holds an Allied Health Assistant Qualification (which may include: Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance,
Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance, or equivalent qualification from a Registered Training Organisation)
- Is a current Allied Health undergraduate student in relevant discipline, having successfully completed a minimum of two years
Additional requirements:
- Current Drivers Licence
- Experience working in rehabilitation and community settings
