About the Role
We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for an Allied Health Assistant with appropriate qualifications and experience. The hours are flexible, (with job share considered) with opportunity across the Acute Wards and Outpatient Programs at Albury and Wodonga Hospitals. The streams consist of ICU/ surgical stream, the Emergency Department/ Medical stream and the Outpatient/ Hydrotherapy stream.
We are seeking a self-motivated, positive, and efficient Allied Health Assistant who possesses a strong passion for acute management. The primary focus of this role is clinical support to our large and expanding team of Physiotherapists. Further responsibilities include providing support and guidance to the wider team of AHAs (including the potential to backfill their positions when on leave), ordering and stocking equipment and making a multidisciplinary contribution to patient care.
Effective communication is crucial in this role, and we are looking for a candidate with a nurturing, adaptable, and clear communication style to build rapport across a broad multidisciplinary team. Given the demanding and complex nature of the acute wards, the ideal candidate should be flexible, possess independence and broad thinking, and demonstrate a solution-focused proactive approach to thrive in such an environment with constant pressure on beds. This position is fast paced, with often multiple demands on time- you need to be self motivated to rise to these challenges and work well with colleagues to achieve timely outcomes.
We have the most experienced Allied Health Assistant Team with long employment histories within our Physiotherapy Department. These very experienced Allied Health Assistants and Physiotherapists, in both acute and subacute areas, will ensure you are well orientated and supported in your role.
We value dedicated and reliable Allied Health Assistants, who are team-oriented, adaptable, and flexible, contributing to positive outcomes for patients and colleagues. Collaboration is key, and we encourage innovation to enhance our practice. We welcome applications from experienced or emerging Allied Health Assistants who can suggest, implement, and embed changes that directly contribute to improving patient experiences.
As our organisation evolves, so too can this position, providing ample opportunities for career progression and diversion. Our commitment to your professional development is evident through the flexibility to explore various career pathways within the organisation, whilst maintaining your substantive position. Additionally, access to scholarships are available both from AWH and external sources to support attendance at professional development events, ensuring you stay at the forefront of your field.
Our salary packaging options provide a unique opportunity to boost your take-home wages, with benefits such as novated leasing for cars. Our remuneration is award based, offering transparency and recognised progression through skill acquisition. This demonstrates our dedication to creating an environment that not only encourages growth and innovation but also prioritises your financial well-being.
Join us on this exciting path as our health service expands and become a proud long-standing member of our esteemed physiotherapy team.
The Opportunity: This is a Permanent Part Time opportunity.
