This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time and Casual appointments, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

Position Profile: We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic people to join our Occupational Therapy team at Perth Children's Hospital.

As an Allied Health Assistant, you will assist Allied Health Professionals across the Perth Children’s Hospital, with the provision of therapy programs including groups, and perform related activities under the therapists’ direction. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare treatment areas and equipment for children and families.
  • Assist clinical staff during child assessments and treatments.
  • Assist with play and intervention activities as requested by the therapist as part of a therapy or group program.
  • Liaise with clinical staff to ensure achievement of service goals.
  • Provide feedback to professional staff on the child and family’s progress.
  • Provide relevant verbal and written information to families regarding play and child development.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to case discussion.

CAHS is made up four service areas: Neonatology, Community Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), and Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH). Consisting of over 6,500 employees, our services are delivered at PCH and King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH), as well as across a network of more than 160 community clinics across the metropolitan area.
