Alternate Underground Manager Northern Star Resources have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an Alternate Underground Manager to join our world-class Mt Charlotte Undergrounds mine. What’s the role on offer? Reporting to the Underground Manager, the primary role of the Alternate Underground Manager at the growing Mt Charlotte underground mine, is to provide leadership support to the operational and technical teams to safely and effectively execute the mining plan. This includes ensuring the short, medium and long-term mine plans are implemented to optimise the life of mine and enable the business to meet its long and short term production and cost objectives. This role is a residential contract on an 8/6 roster, working 12-hour days. However, FIFO will be considered for the right candidate. You will also be responsible for: Directly control, manage, and supervise the operational and technical services team, including external mining contractors to safely achieve our agreed business plans. Prepare forecasts and develop mining strategy with assistance from the geology department, planning and production engineering teams to deliver on mining cost, mine development, ore productions and key infrastructure upgrades to maximise the mine’s contribution to the wider operation. Manage and direct the underground technical team to produce the plans and designs in line with the 12-week mining schedule to deliver monthly production that achieves the budgeted tonnes and ounces. Communicate with mine personnel on a regular basis, keeping them informed on the status, direction, and targets of the operation.
