Whether you have a few years of experience in the field or are a recent graduate seeking an opportunity to truly make a difference, this role is definitely worth considering!The role in a nutshellIn this role, you will be responsible for auditing and evaluating processes and controls in relation to minerals trading, metals recycling, processing, and verification activities. You will be responsible for the quick and thorough collation of data and use your high level of analytical skills to build reports for review and quality improvement.More specifically, you will be expected to:
- Work with internal teams to undertake continuous improvement initiatives with a number of stakeholders such as laboratories, mines and smelters assets in the metals supply chain.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to meet end customer requirements.
- Collaborate with smelter and operational units in the implementation of QA/QC programs.
- Be responsible for the quick and thorough collation of data and to build reports for review, quality improvement and risk management.
- Standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all aspects of the sampling process, including sample collection, preparation, and analysis.
- Use of quality control systems and data analysis to monitor performance
- Perform regular audits and assessments to identify and correct any areas of improvement.
- Able to critically review technical information and spot root causes and suggest/implement solutions to manage and reduce commercial risks
Do you have what it takes?- Tertiary qualifications in chemical/metallurgical engineering, geology or related scientific discipline;
- Knowledge of industry standards, equipment and practices pertaining to sampling / sample preparation and analysis of mineral concentrates, smelter products and ores as well as a sound working knowledge of the mining sector, supply chains and end user requirements (smelters and refiners) would be highly regarded.
- Previous high-level risk and quality standards management experience around physical mineral products in the supply chain would be considered an advantage
- Keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of statistics and method validation.
- Ability to convey detailed information in a concise manner and can easily build and maintain positive relationships.
- You show initiative, and are structured and autonomous.
