Your new role

As an Analyst Programmer, you are responsible for coordinating and undertaking software development activities and the development of software deliverables on the integration of SAPOL’s applications. You will be a part of the Shield Program, which is the largest program, delivering a key operational policing records system.

You will also be responsible for the quality and availability of applications within SAPOL, and will be required to manage complex technical issues, and provide guidance and assistance to other members of the team. You will work closely with IS&T staff, vendors, and business software owners to ensure the interoperability of systems.

What you’ll need to succeed

Experience with multiple relevant programming languages, development tools/environments and methodologies including one or more of:
  • Experience in Java/.Net or any other programming language
  • Web service integration (REST/SOAP, WSDL, XML, Canonical Data Models)
  • Oracle Fusion Middleware (OFM) Platform – Oracle SOA Suite 12c is preferrable
  • SQL and relational database skills
  • Web design (HTML, CSS, Javascript, Ajax)
  • Enterprise Service Bus and Service Registry technologies
You will also be able to demonstrate:
  • Knowledge of service management processes (ITIL) in the delivery of IT application services and an understanding of SDLC principles.
  • Sound knowledge of change and configuration management processes.
  • Advanced level of analytical and conceptual thinking skills and an ability to gather and interpret information.
  • Ability to analyse business issues systematically, understand them and present application-based solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Salary

ASO6 $99,588 - $101,109 Per Annum (plus superannuation)
