SalaryBased in the north of Sydney, this well-known government contract testing laboratory is the national authority on measurement. They play an important role in the Australian economy by leading, maintaining and regulating Australia’s measurement system. This position is suitable for a switched-on experienced Chemist with commercial laboratory experience and highly knowledgeable in terms of instrumentation and organic chemistry skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Undertake extraction and analysis of environmental samples
- Prepare samples, reagents and standards in accordance to documented and/or standard methods.
- Operate and maintain GC-MS and LC-MS instruments
- Process results from instruments and assess data based on acceptance criteria
- Perform routine calibrations of equipment
- Australian Citizenship required for this role
- Tertiary qualifications in Chemistry or related
- Extensive experience in environmental and/or food testing
- Experience with LC-MS and GC-MS within a commercial laboratory
- Knowledge of QA/QC requirements within a NATA accredited testing laboratory
- Have a keen and diligent work ethic with good people skills
- Excellent eye for detail and be highly organised
- Australian Citizenship required for this role
