Our Client, a leading supplier of Probiotics and Nutraceuticals in Australia and New Zealand, are currently seeking an Analytical Chemist on a permanent full-time basis. Located in the Northern Suburbs of Brisbane, this is an excellent opportunity to work with a market leader, supplying popular brands for both retail and practitioners. You will perform in-house testing of both the physical and chemical aspects of product materials.
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Utilising wet and dry instrumentation techniques to carry out the testing of physical and chemical aspects of products, with the majority of time dedicated to the GCMS instrument;
- Preparation of test solutions and laboratory reagents as required;
- Proactively assisting in the verification of test methods and specifications, as well as the evaluation and design of Standard Operating Procedures;
- Analysis of out of specification results according to defined chemical laboratory procedures;
- Contributing to method development projects as required;
- Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment according to the calibration schedule;
- Ensuring that all laboratory work is conducted within a defined schedule and testing time frames.
The successful candidate must have:
- Tertiary qualification in Applied Science, in either Chemistry, Food Technology or a comparable chemical field;
- Experience in a laboratory with instrument competency appropriate to tenure;
- Knowledge of cGMP for Medicinal Products, GLP, British Pharmacopoeia General Notices and Australian Standard Practice;
- Experience in Analytical Chemistry in complementary medicines;
- Experience with GCMS data systems software and good knowledge of common laboratory databases, such as LIMS, with direct experience with GCMS Triple Quad;
- Experience using UPLC/HPLC, GCFID/GCMS, ICP/AA, UV/Vis, IR and classical wet chemistry, with Waters Empower, HPLC, GC instrumentation and AAS instrumentation experience.
