The Opportunity

Recce Pharmaceuticals Ltd is a listed biotech company (ASX:RCE; FSE:R9Q) built on a foundation of good people and great science. There is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic “Mass Spectrometry Analyst” to join our research team to develop testing methodologies and support product development of Recce’s internationally recognised new class of synthetic anti-infectives. The role will initially be based in our Bentley research facility in Perth and may require travel to other sites.


The Position
Reporting to the Principal Quality Chemist / Head of Quality, you will be responsible for managing the development of chromatographic and traditional wet chemistry analysis. HPLC/MS, GC/MS and routine Analytical Chemistry testing to support R&D and product release activities onsite, including:

  • Development of LC, LC/MS and GC/MS methodologies for Recce’s finished product and raw materials. 
  • Development testing methods to GLP standards.
  • Work with the research and development team to further expand the product range. 
  • Participating in global research team meetings and providing reports on progress and issues requiring resolution as required.
  • Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationship

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 3 years' experience with Mass spectrometry. 
  • Strong evidence of hands-on experience in the operation and interpretation of Mass Spectrometry with HPLC and GC interfaces.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Mass Spectrometry (QMS, TOF) and compound analytical method development.
  • Strong evidence of ability to design, lead, conduct experiments and deliver high-quality research outcomes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Mass Spectrometry software.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and bring projects to a timely completion.
  • Advanced oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work effectively autonomously and within a team environment. 
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and is flexible with work hours.
  • Well-developed organisational and problem-solving skills to ensure smooth workflow and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant applications; comfortable learning other software as required.
  • Understanding, and compliance with WHS regulatory requirements.

Desirable Criteria

  • Demonstrated practical scientific knowledge working in a QA cGMP environment.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry.
  • Understanding of Australian and United States drug manufacturing requirements.

This is a permanent full-time position currently based at our Bentley facility in Perth, WA with some travel required.
