About the Opportunity
The Serco Reporting and Business Intelligence Team endeavours to elevate business results through the provision of data-driven insights. The team is committed to providing precise and accurate reports to strengthen internal operations and facilitate customer service delivery.
The Analytics Engineer plays a pivotal role in refining raw data into polished, reusable datasets. Operating in accordance with software engineering best practices, they will create high-quality data pipelines and reports to uphold the team’s commitment to excellence.
What you’ll be doing:
- Designing and maintaining data analytics solutions
- Creating data pipelines in Azure Synapse utilising PySpark and low-code tools
- Producing Power BI semantic models, dashboards, and data management solutions tailored to diverse projects
- Managing and enhancing the central data infrastructure to guarantee reliability and cost efficiency
- Collaborating with teams to design and implement technical solutions
About you
You will not only demonstrate technical proficiency but also possess a strong dedication to customer service, consistently delivering solutions that meet their client’s needs. You’ll have a proactive approach towards problem-solving, combined with a personal drive for excellence. You’ll also be able communicate effectively with both team members and stakeholders, fostering collaboration throughout projects.

Your ideal skills & experience:
- Proficient in SQL, data modelling, and constructing data pipelines, with a grasp of both batch and streaming architectures, along with expertise in implementing lakehouse structures using the Azure data platform or Microsoft Fabric
- Skilled in crafting data models, generating reports, and building dashboards using Power BI
- Possess intermediate proficiency in DAX and Power Query M
- Experienced in troubleshooting and creating database objects within SQL Server, Azure SQL, or Synapse SQL pools
- Acquainted with administering Power BI capacity and data getaways
- Knowledge of Agile Development practices would be advantageous
