The Animal Care Attendant isresponsible for assisting the Animal Care and Adoption Centre Teamto provide care and basic animal health to animals housed at theshelter such as; cleaning and maintaining animal shelterfacilities, feeding and watering, bathing and grooming animalsunder the supervision of the Coordinator Animal Shelter. Inthis role you will also assist in the rehoming of animals, byproviding face to face interaction and customer service with theintention to ensure animals are returned home and ensure animals inthe shelter are taken care of.
Aboutyou
To be considered for this roleyou will have a Certificate II in Companion Animal Services orsimilar, as well as the ability to verbally and visually identifyand describe animals, for instance the colours, sizes and breeds ofdifferent species. You will have experience in Animal Care andhandling skills and also the ability to listen, understand andempathise with others. You will have to work in a fast-pacedenvironment and make basic sound decisions based on animal hygieneand welfare. You will be available to work on a roster asreasonably required including weekends and public holidays. ACurrent ‘C’ class drivers licence and Basic First Aidis essential.
