About the Position
The Animal Compliance Investigator is responsible for overseeing and investigating unregistered animals residing within the City.
This is a non-rostered role, meaning that the role typically works Monday – Friday with only occasional weekend work at community events required.
Reporting directly to the Ranger Services Manager, the position will lead compliance investigations, conduct property inspections to gather evidence, and oversee administrative and pound duties.
Public education is a big part of our Team’s vision to create opportunities for community and pets to live peacefully in a safe environment, as such, the role will take a leading role in developing public education campaigns about responsible animal ownership.
About You
On a daily basis the investigator will need to use a suite of Microsoft based products and internal business systems, so you will need to be savvy with technology and experience in sending well-written and concise correspondence.
You will have acquired Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills 1 & 2 (or Municipal Law A & B), a Drivers Licence (C), First Aid certificate, and the ability to undertake, Periodic Police Clearances (updated every 1 year). Previous Ranger related experience is advantageous but not necessary.
The role’s essential criteria is; * Advanced problem solving, investigation skills, conflict resolution, and negotiation and conciliation skills.
- Use of Microsoft suite software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and time management skills
- Experience in animal handling
- Understating of Occupational Safety & Health principals and responsibilities.
- Sound knowledge of investigative techniques and procedures.
