The Opportunity:
This role involves applying, reviewing, and maintaining Queensland's revenue legislation, and providing reliable revenue policy advice to the government. You will play a crucial role in shaping revenue policy and legislative development.
Pay rate: AO4 (level 1) - $3,331.20 gross fortnightly salary. As a Queensland Government employee, you will be entitled to 12.75% super.
Fixed Term Contract: Six months - Immediate commencement
Location: Brisbane CBD office location
Hybrid Flexibility: Work from home is available up to two days per week, once training and onboarding are complete.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on policy proposals related to Queensland revenue laws;
- Analyse and review the application of revenue laws and related legislation;
- Identify legislative provisions requiring amendment and make submissions;
- Develop and draft revenue legislation; and
- Prepare briefings, reports, and consult on implementing recommended outcomes.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong ability to interpret and apply legislation and case law. You should have a sound understanding of commercial and administrative law and the ability to contribute to revenue policy and legislative development.
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation and case law;

- Experience in developing revenue policy and legislation;
- Skills in logical and defensible legal research; and
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly.
