What You Will Be Doing
The AOD Harm Reduction Lived Experience Worker will support the Addiction health clinic by utilising their lived experience of alcohol and other drugs to engage and support clients accessing the clinic. They will provide Harm Reduction interventions, AOD brief interventions and improve linkages with other health and community services.
What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
  • Demonstrated ability and relevant skills acquired through a lived experience of AOD use in providing a services to people who use drugs
  • AOD specific qualification equivalent to (or above) Certificate IV in Alcohol or Other Drug Work.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a Harm Reduction program.
  • An understanding of the pharmacotherapy treatment and current Victorian AOD treatment system
  • Extensive knowledge of alcohol and other drug health issues and how they may impact on consumers and families/carers.
  • Experience in working effectively with people who use drugs and the ability to liaise with other health and welfare agencies and drug treatment service providers.

*Please refer to salary circular ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONALS (VICTORIAN PUBLIC SECTOR) (SINGLE INTEREST EMPLOYERS) ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT 2021 - 2026 for salary range. Sub grading based on years of experience.
