About the role
Based in Corio, and working as the Therapeutic Community Registered Nurse, you will provide clinical expertise within the intake and admission team, with a focus on assessment, treatment planning and service delivery. A large part of your day is managing the pharmacotherapy reduction program, while building collaborative working relationships with GP's, mental health services, family services and other stakeholders as well as facilitating health education programs and providing peer supervision and advice around risk assessment and managing withdrawal symptoms and other health related matters. The role is based in the newly built, state of the art therapeutic community, set on five acres, offering space to breathe, with peaceful gardens and recreation spaces - including a walking track and outdoor gym. The modern, comfortable buildings and facilities were designed to support rehabilitation. Hours will be Monday to Friday 0830 - 16.30. This is a six month fixed term contract.
About you
You are a confident and capable Registered Nurse, with experience working with AOD patients in previous roles (eg:ED, Mental Health) with sound knowledge of problematic alcohol and other drug use. You have strong clinical nursing and assessment skills with a patient focused, goal oriented approach to service provision. For this role you will need:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Division 1 Nurse
- Cert IV in AOD or willing to complete the AOD core competencies or additional studied in addictive behaviours.
- Current Victorian Drivers licence
